What This Means for Your Credits
The OSSD is 30 credits in total. PLAR recognized credits apply directly to that number, so most students do not need to restart at Grade 9.

Building Your Course Plan
Two paths are common. Some students pursue the full OSSD through PLAR, especially if they want a complete Ontario diploma alongside their board result. Many others have already finished Class 12 and just need one or two specific prerequisite courses their target overseas university program requires, most commonly Grade 11 or 12 Math or Biology where their stream did not include them, without taking on the full diploma. Graduation Requirements, in Brief
Every OSSD student, beyond the 30 credits, also meets Ontario’s literacy requirement, usually OLC4O for students outside Ontario, and completes 40 hours of community involvement.
