Brian Campbell Joins ROA as Academic Policy and Compliance Advisor
Royal Ontario Academy (ROA) is pleased to welcome Brian Campbell as our new Academic Policy and Compliance Advisor.
Extensive Experience in Ontario Private School Education
Brian brings extensive experience in Ontario private school leadership, online education, curriculum implementation, academic quality assurance, and Ministry of Education inspection preparation.
His appointment reflects ROA’s commitment to maintaining high academic standards and continually strengthening the systems that support our students, families, teachers, and educational partners.
Brian has worked in education as a teacher, principal, and consultant. He has led both in-person and online secondary schools and has supported school leaders and educators in meeting the requirements of the Ontario Ministry of Education.
Brian’s experience includes:
- Ministry of Education inspection preparation
- Ontario curriculum implementation
- Online and in-person course delivery
- Assessment, evaluation, and reporting practices
- ONSIS submissions and government reporting
- Notices of Intention to Operate a Private School

Educational Leadership
Brian holds a Master of Science in Education and has completed Ontario’s Principal’s Qualification Program.
Supporting Academic Quality and OSSD Credit Integrity
Royal Ontario Academy is a Ministry-inspected online private high school offering students in Canada and around the world the opportunity to earn credits toward the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).
The Ministry of Education inspects private secondary schools that request authority for their principals to grant OSSD credits. These inspections focus on whether instruction in credit courses meets Ministry requirements. More information is available on the Ministry’s official private school inspection information page.
As Academic Policy and Compliance Advisor, Brian will work with ROA’s leadership team to strengthen the compliance systems, records, reporting practices, and inspection evidence that support our credit-granting responsibilities. His role complements ROA’s curriculum and instructional leadership by concentrating on regulatory requirements and documented school processes.
His work will help support:
- Ministry inspection readiness and supporting evidence
- Accurate Ontario Student Records, transcripts, and reporting
- ONSIS, Notice of Intention, and other regulatory submissions
- Compliance-focused school policies and procedures
- Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) processes, records, and documentation in support of principal decisions
- Credit-granting, enrolment, and student-record requirements
- Ongoing preparation for Ministry inspections
- Clear communication of regulatory responsibilities to staff
Compliance is not simply about preparing documents for an inspection. It means establishing dependable practices that support effective teaching, meaningful learning, fair assessment, and accurate reporting throughout the school year.
