Meet Kellie Casey, Instructor at Royal Ontario Academy

As an Instructor at Royal Ontario Academy, Kellie Casey brings extensive experience in mathematics, business studies, special education, online learning and student re-engagement. She is an Ontario Certified Teacher and former Canadian Olympic alpine skier whose work reflects perseverance, discipline and a strong commitment to student success.
Education and Professional Background
Kellie holds a Bachelor of Education from Brock University, with qualifications in Junior and Intermediate Mathematics and Senior Business Studies. She also holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce with Distinction from the University of Guelph.

As an Educational Content Reviewer with Emond Publishing, she reviewed curriculum materials and assessments for clarity, accessibility and alignment with Ontario curriculum expectations. She also identified potential cultural and accessibility barriers and recommended improvements to support diverse learners.
Kellie has served on the EQAO Mathematics Sensitivity Committee, where she reviewed provincial assessment questions for fairness, clarity, accessibility and cultural relevance.
Lessons From High-Performance Sport
Before beginning her career in education, Kellie competed with the Canadian National Alpine Ski Team. She spent six years competing on the World Cup circuit and represented Canada at the Olympic Games.
