Meet Natasha Pomeroy | Royal Ontario Academy Instructor

As Instructor and curriculum developer at Royal Ontario Academy, Natasha Pomeroy is primarily responsible for math and science course development. She combines more than a decade of classroom experience with graduate-level expertise in curriculum and instructional design.

Education and Professional Background

Natasha holds a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instructional Design from Simon Fraser University. She also holds a Bachelor of Education in International and Global Education and a Bachelor of Physical Education and Coaching Theory with a minor in Biological Sciences.

Her teaching experience includes:

  • Science in Grades 8 to 12
  • Biology in Grades 11 and 12
  • Physics in Grade 11
  • Mathematics in Grades 8 to 12
  • Learning support and alternative education
  • Indigenous student success programming

Natasha has taught in the Burnaby School District and has also worked as a curriculum specialist, instructional design consultant and online teacher.

Developing Math and Science Courses at ROA

At Royal Ontario Academy, Natasha helps design, review and improve online math and science courses aligned with Ontario curriculum expectations.

Natasha has developed and delivered virtual and blended secondary science courses in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Environmental Science. She has also created interactive learning modules, instructional videos and multimedia resources that help make complex concepts more accessible.

Natasha believes effective online education should promote inquiry, independence and genuine understanding. Students should not simply memorize information or complete tasks. They should be encouraged to explain their reasoning, apply their learning, reflect on feedback and connect course concepts to real situations.
